Risk related to Africa is handled on a basis of perceived rather than real risk. In failing to accurately represent developments on the ground, the narrative around Africa as an investment destination is shaped by external influences which do not engage with deep, considered analysis around the complexities of the continent’s commercial and social structures. It is time this is addressed.
