Ilse assumed the position of Sustainability Manager in 2019 and is responsible for undertaking sustainability (including environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and impact activities across all transactions, execution, and asset management of the Impact Investing assets, which includes five funds across primarily education, housin,g and retirement assets.
Prior to this role, since 2008, she was an investment professional in the Impact Investing team and managed existing investments, primarily in the end-user finance space, also serving on the boards of some of the investee companies. She managed an end-user finance portfolio to the value of ZAR 1 billion.
In addition to asset management, she was responsible for fund and investor reporting, fund administration, and for assisting the Impact Investment team in implementing a social and environmental management system (ESMS).
Ilse holds a BCom (Marketing) from the University of Pretoria and a BCom Hons (Business Management) from the University of South Africa.
She currently serves as a director of the board of the Schools Grant Fund.
