Reinett joined OMAI in 2022 and is responsible for managing sustainability activities across all aspects of the transaction execution and asset management of OMAI’s asset portfolio within the Pan African region. Prior to joining OMAI, she was a Senior Environmental Consultant at SLR Consulting responsible for undertaking the Environmental and Social Risk Assessments for projects in multiple sectors.

Reinett has 10 years’ experience as an Environmental and Social professional and has worked on multiple environmental projects within the renewable energy, oil and gas, telecommunication and mining sectors in South Africa and other African countries. This has given her the knowledge and experience in working with the local laws and several standards such as IFC performance standards, AfDB operational safeguards and the Equator Principles.

Her responsibilities have allowed her, among other things, to have a suitable mastery of the local and international legislation on the environment as well as that of the requirements of lenders such as the World Bank group (including the International Finance Corporation) and the African Development Bank (“AfDB”).

Reinett holds Honours in Environmental Management and Analysis from the University of Pretoria and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management from the Stellenbosch University.
