As Head of Business Development for the Impact Investing business, Ettienne is responsible for the development, capitalisation and operationalisation of new impact investing funds.

Ettienne joined Old Mutual Alternative Investments in May 2014 and has set up the Old Mutual Retirement Accommodation Fund (an impact fund focused on developing retirement accommodation in South Africa), Urban Impact Properties (the scale residential rental portfolio of the Housing Impact Fund South Africa) and the Education Investment Impact Fund of South Africa (an impact fund focused on the education sector in South Africa).

Before joining Old Mutual, Ettienne originated and managed debt and equity real estate investments for Standard Bank, ABSA and Barclays Bank, worked as an analyst for an unlisted real estate fund, and a management consultant for various clients.

Ettienne has more than 20 years of business experience, including impact investing, real estate finance and investment, and management consulting.

Ettienne has a Degree in Industrial Engineering (Cum Laude), has held various board positions in investment vehicles and investee entities managed by OMAI, and is currently a director of three investment vehicles managed by OMAI.
