Devan is a Senior Investment Professional at Infrastructure Debt and plays a pivotal role in originating, structuring, and monitoring investments across the continent. He is an accomplished infrastructure specialist with over two decades of experience in the field.

Devan began his professional career as a Chemical Engineer in operations and project management roles in South Africa's mining industry. This technical experience proved invaluable in subsequent credit roles within the resources and project finance teams at Rand Merchant Bank and Barclays Capital. Prior to joining Old Mutual, Devan served as a Principal Investment Officer at the Development Bank of Southern Africa's (DBSA) Project Finance team, where he led the origination and structuring of diverse infrastructure investments across the African landscape. Notably, Devan led the DBSA's investment in the first two utility-scale solar PV, wheeled energy projects in South Africa, and Old Mutual’s debt funding in Castle Wind Farm, the largest utility-scale commercial and industrial wind farm to reach financial close in South Africa at the time.

Devan holds a BSc Eng (Chem) (Hons) from the University of KwaZulu Natal (South Africa) and an MBA from Henley Business School (United Kingdom).
