Pieter is a Credit Manager at Infrastructure Debt, responsible for overseeing the credit risk management process of the business. He is also a voting member of the OMSFIN Credit Committee that oversees legacy infrastructure credit exposures. He has over 24 years of experience in financial services and investment management and over 30 years of relevant project finance experience including work experience as an engineer.

He began his career as a design engineer for a civil engineering consulting firm. He departed the engineering profession to complete a BCom conversion course at the University of Cape Town, and post articles, joined the Industrial Development Corporation, where he combined his engineering and financial knowledge to assess and implement successful investment decisions. Pieter was previously a credit manager at Old Mutual Specialised Finance (OMSFIN) and joined Infrastructure Debt as a founding member at the start of 2022.

Pieter holds a BEng (Civ) and MEng (Str) from the University of Pretoria, as well as a PGDA from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (South Africa). He is a qualified CA(SA).
