Burchert Johannes is an Investment Principal at Old Mutual Private Equity (OMPE) and is responsible for deal origination, implementation, investment management and exits.

Burchert joined OMPE in 2013 and has been involved in various transactions including, Primedia, 10x, TiAuto and In2food. He also formed part of the deal team responsible for the exit of Libstar.

After completing his studies, he joined Old Mutual’s CA Trainee programme. During his three-year training programme, he spent 12 months working as a Junior Analyst with OMPE. Post-articles, Burchert joined Old Mutual Equities as a Listed Equity Analyst, where he covered stocks in the financial, IT and construction industries.

Burchert holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He currently serves on the boards of 10x, Tiger Automotive, Primedia and In2Food. He has previously served on the Board of Ster Kinekor.
