Old Mutual Private Equity Fund IV was established in January 2014. The Fund aims to deliver medium- to long-term returns above a benchmark of 20% a year. It invests in high-quality unlisted companies that display significant growth potential. We aim to acquire either significant minority equity stakes in the businesses or control positions, partnering with like-minded investors and management teams.
This Fund is closed.
All portfolio companies in the fund are significant employers, resulting in 19,984 jobs as at December 2019. We see job creation as one of the key positive impacts generated, and OMPE is proud to support these businesses in creating these opportunities.
Transformation in the South African context is one way of reducing inequalities. Transformation includes the active redressing of past discrimination through the demographic representation of the workforce to mirror that of the country’s demographic make-up. As at December 2019, 74% of all employees were historically disadvantaged South Africans (HDSAs) which indicates good progress.
We target those investments with potential to deliver strong long-term returns.
