Brahm van Schalkwyk is a Vice President in the International Private Equity business unit within Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI). Prior to joining OMAI in 2025, he spent eight years focused on private equity fund and co-investments with HQ Capital and AXA Investment Managers, during which time he was based in Frankfurt, New York, and London.

Brahm has experience as an investor in the US and European small, mi,d and large cap space and has helped facilitate the buildout of co-investment strategies at both of his prior firms. Before entering the private equity industry, he started his career in investment banking at the Firstrand Group.

Brahm holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School, an MSc in Finance from the International University of Monaco, and a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch. He is also a registered Chartered Accountant.
